Mother's Tea Party with Travis

May 14, 2012 - 9:50:02 AM

There are moments in time as a mother where you hope to never forget! This last week I had one of those moments with Travis. His class had a Mother’s Tea Party. Each of the children came out of the classroom to invite and escort their mother in. When it was Travis’s turn, his smile was so bright! He came out, grabbed my hand and looked up with me with his big smile and said, “Welcome to my tea party.” My hart melted. His smile and sweet words with such excitement is that moment in time I hope to cherish forever!

He then escorted me into the classroom and walked me over to our table where he presented me with my tea party hat. Wow! It was so sweetly put together with love and thoughtfulness that all I could was find my smile to be as big as his and give him a kiss to say, “Thank you.”

The rest of the event was fun and memorable. I wish Travis could stay in preschool forever!

The little program the children put on was cute. The play was about Little Mrs. Spider’s Tea party and had rolls playing bugs in the story. Then they sang a song, Love grows.

The rest of the tea party was food, presents and playing outside.

Even though the time went by fast I know I will adore my hat and plate fondly and always, always remember this little moment in time with Travis.

Shout out for Travis, our little rider!

May 14, 2012 - 9:22:03 AM

Our baby is almost five years old and this last week he proved he was growing up. With the weather being nicer, Travis and Frank spent less five minutes working on riding the bike without the training wheels before he was off down the street all on his own!

We are so proud of his hard work and how quickly he got it down. Throughout the rest of the week he spent his time practicing. He is doing great still working on the getting started part but for his first week we are very excited!

Tonight we are going to try going on a family bike ride for our family home evening. Wonder how far we will make it…

Joie's Birthday Party

Apr 25, 2012 - 11:53:04 AM

Birthdays are a time to celebrate! Since the boys don’t see their only 1st cousins all the time and Joie’s birthday is this week we celebrated it for family night. It was a nice day out the weather was sunny and the air was warm. Time spent outside at Nana and Papa’s was great. We played games on the trampoline like crack the egg and duck, duck, goose.

There were lot of giggles and laughs among the kids. Following dinner we watched Joie open here special gifts.  All the kids were excited about the Disney princess piano.

The adults got a good laugh watching her blow out her candles since he blew them out while we were singing to her.

We had to relight them and then at the end of the song all the boys seem to help rather than let her do it. The birthday was well celebrated and enjoyed by all of us. We hope Joie has a good year and enjoys going to school in the fall. Happy Birthday Joie!
