Stubs has been happy since we got home from our trip however, his stay at moms brought home more scratching than we have seen before. After a few days I talked to Frank about and we thought maybe it was the food we changed him too. So I picked up a bag of the old stuff we were giving him. When things didn’t improve I pointed out that it was always one ear. Frank tried some things to help it out but nothing really changed back to our normal puppy. Last night while I was petting him I noticed his right ear felt warm and left felt normal. He kept us up last night scratching. Frank called this morning and took him to the vet. After weighing him, 70 lbs, they took his temp. and it was high and then they swabbed his ear. Frank waited while the figured out what was wrong but before they left the room they told Frank it could be a worm that got in his ear which goes in the brain and that if that were the reason then he would need to be put down. .. Frank quickly called me to tell what was going on. When they returned they let him know Stubs was going to be fine and he has an ear & Yeast infection.
On a lighter note when James and I were leaving the pool tonight James let me know, “Stubs has and owie!” I asked him, “Is that what daddy told you?” He said, “Stubs is stuck in a volcano! We need to help him out!” I love the little things these boys say.
