The sights of Mt. Hood
Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Yesterday the weather didn’t get nice until the evening so we finished our drive around the mountain.  This part took more time but there was more to stop at. The boys did great. We went and looked at Multnomah Falls and the Bonneville Dam. The falls were nice to see but there is only so much you can do there. James and Travis had fun being pushed on the bike around there. The Dam was fun to see since there were lots of fish in the fish ladder. James enjoyed looking at the fish as well as the rest of us. Some of the King Salmon were so BIG. The dam was built in 4 years in the 1930’s and was a great thing to help with jobs during the depression.  The rest of the Columbia Gorge was nice to see and it was neat to watch the kite boarding. On our way through Hood River we found Wal-Mart and had to stop for a little break.

Today started off slow since Mom & Dad were going home. Dad seem to have a different time agenda of departure than mom and I. The lack of communication, lead to them to go before the kids were ready for Nana & Papa leave but not before the kids went swimming. James did a wonderful job of basic swimming around the pool. We played for about 45 min before James slipped in the pool and it was time to go back and find Stubs, James stuffed animal. The boys ate lunch and napped and then we took a nature walk. Not to far from condo is the Salmon River. The boys had a great time tossing rock into the water and pretending to catch fish. It took up most of our evening and ended up coming home to ride bikes and play with sidewalk chalk. After dinner it was time for baths and then bed. Over all the boys had a great day and today they didn’t have to go in the car. I hope to have fun tomorrow and enjoy the time with the boys before going home on Friday. We miss daddy but will be home soon.
