What a wonderful day for me! It was so much fun for me to make James’s Birthday special. When he woke up I told him happy birthday. I sang the song and when I was done he said again. While I sang he sang happy birthday to me. It was very sweet! Then we came downstairs and got ready for school. I made treats for him to take to his class which he thought was neat. While he was at school Travis and I sat in morning traffic and made our way down to the store to buy some supplies for our party. James let me know he wanted yellow cake, balloons and party hats. I made sure Travis & I got all of those and a few extras. When we got home I started to clean the house and make some of the stuff for dinner.
When James got home I sent up to bed for his nap. He took a good long one so he would be happy for that night. When he woke up I showed him the balloons and him and Travis started to play with them. Shortly after lunch Chester came over to play with the boys so I could continue cleaning and cooking. Chester was a great help keeping them up in their rooms for a while. At 4:30 I had to sit down and watched the Amazing Race with Frank. At 5 I ran upstairs to get ready and then came back down quickly and finished cooking the beans and cutting the fruit while frank cooked the burgers on the grill.
Everyone showed up around 6 and James was so happy to have his party when the doorbell rang he was off and running! NO joke! He wanted to open presents right away but he had to wait until we all ate dinner. When it was the right time I told him to go sit in his chair and he did like a good boy. He enjoyed all of his gifts and the kids were playing with them right away. We then had yellow cake, Deborah brownies and ice cream. Boy were we stuffed when it was all done. James was cute to watch blow out his candles and he did great!.
The kids continued to play with the toys until it was time to go or time for bed. James got to stay up a little longer then Travis playing Aunt Colies toy. We had to pull him off it to take him to bed. Frank had to carry him away while he was crying over going to bed and not getting to play more.
It was a great day! The joy of watching it through a child eyes is something you cant put into words. I am thankful for the opportunity to do this and have a great day with my little boys! I am appreciative of Chester and Franks help getting ready and Grandma Airplane during the party. Thanks to all who called and shared their love with James!
