Late Wednesday night Chester and I went to the airport to pick up Zach, Jenny, and Joie & Fox. They had started their trip to Washington more than 24 hrs before. They arrived happy to be here and happy we were right outside the door they walked out of to get picked up. When we got home there was a few min. spent visiting and then it was time for bed.
James was sad to go to school since he knew Joie and Fox where here but he wasn’t getting to play with them since they were still sleeping. Once we were all awake, fed and dressed we loaded up in the car. 4 car seats in the Highlander and 3 adults is tricky but it worked out just fine. We went and picked James up from school a little early and then took Zach and Jenny to the temple to meet up with Jenny’s parents who had come from Canada.
From there I had the joy of spending time out and about with 4 kids. I am grateful Frank was able to help out since we had a 4 yr old, twin 2.5 yr olds and a 1 yr old to look after for 2.5 hrs. I think the kids had lots of fun. We went to see Frosty the snowman and take pictures with him. Frosty is my cousin Dean. At first the kids were a little unsure but they warmed up and were happy to get candy canes. We walked around after pictures and found Jack Frost. He looked really cool. We then loaded up the car and went through the drive through at Mc Donald’s. Once we were back at the temple we turned on a movie and gave everyone their food. It was our little drive trough. J That’s when Frank went back to work. All in all it went a lot better than I had thought it would. James was a BIG help. He held Joie’s hand everywhere we went and then Travis would hold theirs. People thought we were one big family. They thought Joie and Travis were twins and Joie was my daughter. It was a little funny. Only a crazy person would have so many kids so young together. Fox was my buddy and just snuggled right into my arms the whole time, which was really sweet.
In the end we returned the kids to Zach and Jenny so they could go to Canada for a few days. As for the boys and I we came home for naps.
