Merry Christmas & a Happy 2010 to everyone out there!  We had nice Christmas here at home with family. The eve of Christmas was spent with Dent & Deborah in the afternoon. The kids had a great time. We tried to make some gingerbread cookies from a mix a family member had given us. James had been waiting a week to do this with Grandma and Grandpa. Well the joke was on us! These things were NASTY!!! J 1st off I don’t know if anyone has ever tried to get to get a mix out of a glass gingerbread man container but the arms and legs are a bit tricky when it comes to brown sugar that has hardened. Thanks to the inventiveness of Grandpa who make a cooking tool out of a coat hanger we got it out. The 2nd thing was when the little men came out cooked they didn’t taste very good. Grandma tried to help out on this one by fixing them with white chocolate chips. Grandpa tried this new version but it was still not good enough. James came by eager to try these “yummy” treats. One bite and out it came with a big “yucky.” I was laughing so hard. Grandpa then gave it a go by covering the man in white chips and it still wasn’t good enough. When it came time to leave we leave these treats for the Grandparents to share with others. J Thanks for memories!!

The evening was spent at Jen & Jims with the Koons side of the family. It is always great to catch up with family and see the growth of their kids. My Great Aunt Mary Nell came and slept the whole time however it was a time to remember my Grandmother, Wanda Koons, who has passed. These 2 sisters had so much life and fire in them and now here my Great Aunt at 86 years old is restful and has aged to a state of change I am happy to know who she once was.  Santa came as always and then it was time for us to get home for the boys to be able to enjoy Christmas day.
