We're Crazy

What were we thinking?
On Saturday 2/20/10 Molly and were enjoying our time with our children and playing around the house when Molly's Aunt called up and gave Molly an idea.  With the Olympics only 2.5 hours away why not take the children up to Vancouver and enjoy the environment and take a picture by the Olympic cauldron (torch).  Initially, we brushed it off as if it was not going to happen.  Well, at about 4pm Molly said why not do it.  While thinking about it we realized that the kido's did not have passports and they are required toget through the border now for everyone.  But, Molly and I did have passports.  So Molly called her Mom and she agreed to watch the kids.  We dropped off the kids and off we went towards the border.  When we got there the wait through was < 5 minutes and we slowly made it to downtown.  We drove around for a bit and finally found a parking space (at 8:45pm).  We then started walking an looking around, and made it to the cauldron.  We took some pictures and had some nice Canadian folks take our pictures, hey.  At about 9:30 we started hiking back to our car and to drive home to get the kids.  The whole time I told Molly that it was crazy and it would not be worth it having 5+ hours in the car for 1 hour of the environment.  I was wrong, I loved the fact that we were spontaneous and that we went up there while it was still lit and enjoyed the car ride more for we were able to have some time alone to talk.  We got home and got the kids in bed around 12:30am.  Overall, great day..
